Exclusive : Surprising Results - Winner of Pongal Season…

It’s been a week full of Holiday where the entire Tamil Nadu has been enjoying the festive season of Pongal. Lots of releases and here goes the list of flops and hits of the season analyzed from the feedbacks of people… Not alone biggies like Villu and Padikadhavan have made their way on the screens, but the most expected Hindi film of Akshay Kumar’s Chandni Chowk To China too….

Villu – Possibly, the film had good expectations with duo combo Prabhu Deva and Vijay making their spell followed by the grand success of ‘Pokkiri’. Ayngaran Films International made good business by selling their flicks. But now, the collections are likely due to drop after first week. The film isn’t a great hit even amongst the ardent fans of Vijay.

Result: Flop

Padikadhavan: Sun Pictures are the best when it comes to ‘Marketing’ their own flicks. Commencing it with ‘Kadhalil Vizhundhen’, they have been making big on each endeavor. Then, how can ‘Padikadhavan’ be an elision. Though the film isn’t a perfect entertaining catering to the tastes of all centres, wild marketing makes the film still popular.

Result: Average

Kadhalna Summa illa - Like Sun Network, Raj TV may not be great marketers, but the film is really an excellent one. Years back, ‘Gamyam’ in Telugu made high waves and though not up to that level, the remake version is quite commendable.

Result: Good

A AA E EE - AVM Productions comes up with a family entertainer, and again another remake for the occasion. The film is a remake of Yesteryear Telugu movie ‘Chandamama’. With no big star-casts on lead, the film provides entertainment to certain extent. It’s worth watching for the money you’ve paid for tickets.

Chandni Chowk to China (Hindi): Akshay Kumar mania has been more here, ever since he had his biggest blockbusters in previous years. With Warner Bros producing the film along with Ramesh Sippy (Director of Sholay), the film is a mediocre on all aspects. Actors have done a stupendous job but a flimsy script and screenplay overshadows them. But Just imagine, when Sun Pictures has been marketing such a film like ‘Padikadhavan’, how would Warner Bros make it for ‘CC2C’.

villu is a sure flop for sure!!! and also nothing special in padikathavan too…. but the aggressive marketing av made to collect more.. a distributor has said tht it will touch 17crores the first ever dhanush’s film…. and also in behindwoods itz confirmed has a hit.. cc2c has also bombed miserably in bollywood..
am very happy when a movie flop’s in bollywood or anywhere they dont fear in saying it but our
tamilans saying it a average grosser and celeberating 150th day function for such films like kuruvi which was a damp squib.. and also ayngaran has given a press meet saying tht the villu is a success.. how cheap are v tamilans…. i saw full of empty seats for villu which was released with 70prints like big stars like mamooty and etc in the second day itself…
but stil they will celebrate the 150th day for sure.. i think itz absolutely wild marketing by suntv people get disgusted abt it.. they are almost forcing people to c the film.. am sure today when i came across inox i saw it houseful for padikathavan even on a week day
