US President George Bush got unwelcomed reception, when an angry journalist hurled both his shoes at him during a press conference in Baghdad on Sunday.
Bush was on an unscheduled visit to Iraq and was in a joint press conference with Iraqi PM Nuri Al-Maliki.
Bush ducked the shoes thrown at him and later joked on the incident and said they were was size 10.
The journalist, in Arabic language, called Bush a dog and said this was a farewell kiss for him. He further said that this was from orphans, widows and all those who were killed in Iraq.
He was later pushed outside the hall by the security.
The journalist was identified as Muntadar al-Zeidi, a correspondent of Al-Baghdadia, a Cairo based news channel owned by Iraq.
Bush will be completing his Presidential term in next 37 days (January 20) and before that, was likely to make important announcements regarding US troop’s withdrawal from Iraq.
Bush later left for Afghanistan where he was to attend a rally with over 1,000 soldiers.
